Wood Lath Plaster Repair Photo 5

I took before, during, and after photos of plaster repairs on a job I was doing. The camera was not very good so the photos are also not very good but they should give you an idea of the Wood Lath Plaster Repair process.

I usually use Structo-Lite from USG for the first coat, basecoat, or rough coat plaster. You can use the Gold Bond Gypsolite product as I was doing here but in my opinion the Structo-Lite is a lot stronger for the basecoat. The Gypsolite is not as heavy as the Structo which can be a good reason to use it in some cases.

Again, it is very important to spray the wood lath and around the edges of the plaster to keep the rough coat plaster from drying to fast and cracking. You want the plaster to cure, not to dry.
