Building InspectionsI am not a home inspection expert but I did do home inspections back in the late 80's. A contractor like myself can perform an inspection and give you an estimate for repairs but contractors are not allowed to call it a "home inspection". Contractors call it a paid building inspection or a paid estimate.I will be putting some inspection tips and photos of things to look out for on this page. For example, there is a type of beetle that eats roof rafters. Why roof rafters? I don't know but it looks like machinegun holes in the rafters where the roof sheathing sits on the rafters. I only noticed it on my house when I was replacing a part of the roof and had to remove the sheathing. I forget the name of the beetle but I have seen the damage they can cause. |
